SCOOP: SS Rajamouli pushes limits again; Mahesh Babu's Varanasi gets Rs. 1300 cr. budget
SS Rajamouli took the... Read More
SS Rajamouli took the global audience by storm with the launch of his next directorial, Varanasi, starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj in lead roles. The first teaser has become the talk of the town, and there is a demand to know more about the film from cine-goers all across the board. And now, we have an exclusive scoop on the budget of the film.
Very reliable sources close to the project have confirmed that Varanasi will be made on a historic budget of Rs. 1300 crores, excluding the amount kept aside for print and publicity. "Rs. 1300 crore is a rather small amount to bring the mammoth vision of SS Rajamouli to the spectacle. While films like A6 and Ramayana are being made on a budget of Rs. 1500 crores to 2000 crores, SS Rajamouli is set to make a bigger looking film than the two on a much lower budget," a trade source shared with Bollywood Hungama.
We hear that SS Rajamouli has craftily designed some of the most epic sequences and is shooting for them in a planned manner. "Rajamouli is one of the most well-organised directors of Indian Cinema. He has designed all the moments on paper and is now merely executing them. He isn't someone who wastes time and money by deciding things on the set. He has done the pre-viz, and then shooting, leading to the saving of money for the producers. However, the film will look bigger than any other film made in India."
The source also confirms that the Globetrotter event was one of the biggest events ever conducted in India, as SS Rajamouli and team spent Rs. 20 crores on the same. "Everything around the film will be the biggest ever. This is just the beginning."
Varanasi is set for a 2027 release.

Sholay’s original ending finally set for release; restored version to hit theatres on December 12, 2025
The makers of Sholay... Read More
The makers of Sholay have officially announced the release date of the newly restored 4K version of the 1975 classic. The film, featuring director Ramesh Sippy’s originally intended ending, will arrive in theatres on December 12, 2025, marking the first time Indian audiences will see the climax exactly as it was envisioned five decades ago.
This announcement comes shortly after veteran actor Dharmendra, who headlined the iconic film alongside Amitabh Bachchan, was discharged from the hospital following a recent health scare. The actor is currently recovering at home.
The restored version of Sholay has been created by the Film Heritage Foundation in collaboration with Sippy Films. The team sourced a rare colour reversal print from London, located the original camera negatives, and even recovered long-lost deleted scenes from a warehouse in Mumbai. The result is a 4K restoration that returns the film to its original 70mm format.
The film made its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) earlier this year and is set for its Australian debut at the Indian Film Festival of Sydney (IFFS) in October. With the newly announced India release, the restoration is now headed for a wide audience. The Original Ending, Five Decades Later One of the biggest draws of this version is the reinstatement of the original climax, where Thakur kills Gabbar Singh—an ending that had been altered due to censorship restrictions during the Emergency.
Speaking to Bollywood Hungama last month, Ramesh Sippy explained the circumstances that led to the change. “In 1975, it was the time of the Emergency. So, we couldn’t argue too much. But the end that I put in had to be shot at the last minute,” he said. “This changed climax was the same ending that took place in every film at that time. The police comes and says, ‘Ruk jaao’! It was a typical ending. That’s what I didn’t like; there was no other reason.”
He added with humour, “The Censor officials stressed that ‘He’s an officer. He should not be taking the law into his own hands'. Actually, I can’t say hands as he didn’t have any.”
With the restored version now set for a December 12 release, audiences will have the chance to revisit Sholay in a form that honours its scale, craft, and original creative vision.

Punjab and Haryana HC declines PIL seeking name change for 120 Bahadur
The upcoming war epic... Read More
The upcoming war epic 120 Bahadur, starring Farhan Akhtar as Param Vir Chakra awardee Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, has landed in a legal debate just days before its scheduled release. The Punjab and Haryana High Court recently heard a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking the film’s name be changed to ‘120 Vir Ahir’ to better honor the Ahir soldiers who fought in the historic Battle of Rezang La.
Court Questions Sensitivity Over Movie Title
During the hearing, Chief Justice Sheel Nagu addressed petitioners from Sanyukt Ahir Regiment Morcha and families of those who died in action, expressing surprise at the insistence on a name change. “Why are you so sensitive about what name should carry, whether a film should be named so and so? Bravery of soldiers will be seen in that 3 hour or 2-and-a-half hour movie,” the Chief Justice remarked, emphasizing that cinematic portrayal honors all 120 men.
Petitioners Argue for Collective Recognition
Petitioners alleged the film singularly glorifies Major Singh, eclipsing the regimental identity and collective sacrifice of 117 Ahir soldiers who fought alongside him, citing constitutional concerns over equality and accurate remembrance. The plea argued, “No single name or face may justly monopolize the laurels that rightfully belong to the entire brotherhood of the fallen.”
Producers and Defence Argue Film's Integrity
Advocate Abhinav Sood, representing producers Excel Entertainment, countered that both the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) and the Defence Ministry cleared the film. Sood stressed the PIL was premature, based solely on a three-minute trailer, and assured the court of comprehensive acknowledgment within the movie’s credits and narrative.
The Union government assured the court that representations against the release are under consideration and will be decided within two days. In response, the High Court disposed of the petition, granting liberty to revisit the matter if further grievances arise after the release.
120 Bahadur dramatizes the infamous 1962 Indo-China battle at Rezang La, fought by Charlie Company—a unit comprised predominantly of Ahir soldiers under Major Singh’s command. The film’s release is set for November 21 and promises to showcase acts of heroism, endurance, and camaraderie at altitudes of 18,000 feet and subzero temperatures.

When Salman Khan met his 'duplicate': Sunil Grover's hilarious impersonation steals the show at Da-Bangg tour, watch
The Da-Bangg tour in... Read More
The Da-Bangg tour in Qatar delivered an unexpectedly entertaining moment when Salman Khan came face-to-face with his onstage “duplicate,” played by comedian and actor Sunil Grover. Fans were delighted to witness the humorous encounter, which quickly went viral across social media platforms.
The segment unfolded when host Maniesh Paul brought Salman on stage and teased that someone special was approaching from the other end. Sunil Grover then walked in, fully dressed in black and mirroring Salman’s signature style and swagger. His exaggerated walk and confident demeanour instantly amused the audience—and Salman himself, who smiled as he observed Sunil’s playful impersonation.
For a few light-hearted seconds, the two walked around each other, creating a moment that had the crowd cheering and laughing. Salman's bodyguard Shera eventually stepped in and gently escorted Sunil offstage, while Salman chuckled and continued with the show.
How the Internet Reacted
Once the clip surfaced online, fans flooded the comments with humorous reactions. One user wrote, “He is more Salman than actual Salman,” while another commented, “Epic moment! Sunil Grover too good yaar.”
Some fans also recalled Sunil’s previous impersonations of the superstar on The Kapil Sharma Show, noting how surreal it felt to watch a similar moment unfold in real life. The interaction stirred nostalgic laughter and showcased Sunil’s longstanding ability to mimic Salman with uncanny accuracy.
More Highlights from the Da-Bangg Tour
In addition to Salman and Sunil’s viral moment, stars like Tamannaah Bhatia, Stebin Ben, and Jacqueline Fernandez were part of the Qatar event. Another video from the show featured Salman dancing to ‘Dil Diyan Gallan’ with Tamannaah Bhatia. The duo performed a soft, romantic segment on stage, dressed in coordinated black and red outfits, which once again captured the internet’s attention.
Salman Khan’s Upcoming Film
On the work front, Salman will next be seen in Apoorva Lakhia’s Battle of Galwan. The actor will portray an Army officer in the film, which revisits the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese forces. The project also stars Chitrangada Singh and is currently in production, with a planned release in 2026.

SCOOP: Dhurandhar may not end in ONE film - Ranveer Singh's most ambitious saga headed for PART 2 in 2026?
Bollywood Hungama has... Read More
Bollywood Hungama has been at the forefront in giving news about one of the most awaited films of 2025, Dhurandhar. After informing viewers that 2000 fans of lead actor Ranveer Singh will assemble at the grand trailer launch, we reported earlier today that it is expected to be the actor’s lengthiest film. Now, we bring to you another news of the film, which has created a lot of chatter in the industry.
A trade source told Bollywood Hungama, “There have been reports that Dhurandhar is a two-part saga. Hence, the film, which will be released on December 5, will be the first installment. It’ll end at a decisive point and the story will then continue in the second part.”
The source continued, “It is said that director Aditya Dhar has shot extensively and the film has shaped up really well. But since it's very lengthy, they have toyed with the idea of breaking it into 2 parts. If this is the plan, then Dhurandhar’s part 2 will arrive next year, preferably in the first half.”
It now remains to be seen whether the makers, Jio Studios and B62 Studios, will announce the two-part aspect of Dhurandhar before release or if viewers will get to know about it only towards the end of the first part when they see the film in cinemas.
We reached out to Jio Studios to find out if Dhurandhar is a two-part saga, but they chose not to comment.
Dhurandhar stars Ranveer Singh in the lead and also features Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan and Sara Arjun. It is Aditya Dhar’s next directorial after the blockbuster and much-loved Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019). The teaser was unveiled on July 6, on Ranveer Singh’s birthday, and got a smashing response. It immediately increased the excitement for the action entertainer. As a result, the trailer, which will be released tomorrow, is keenly anticipated.

Directed by Ram Madhvani, produced by Mahaveer Jain Films and Ram Madhvani Films, it’s a spiritual action thriller. This has never been attempted before in Indian cinema. Pankaj Tripathi and wife Mridula enter theatre production with Lailaaj; daughter Aashi makes stage debut
Celebrated actor... Read More
Celebrated actor Pankaj Tripathi and his business manager wife, Mridula Tripathi, are all set to take a heartfelt leap into theatre production with their newly formed banner Roopkatha Rangmanch. Their first production, a musical comedy titled Lailaaj, will also mark the stage debut of their daughter Aashi Tripathi.
Written, directed, composed, and lyrically driven by Faiz Mohammed Khan, Lailaaj promises a refreshing blend of humour, music, and heartwarming storytelling. The musical will be staged on the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd of this month at Rangshila Theatre in Mumbai, giving audiences an exciting new theatrical experience.
For Pankaj Tripathi, whose journey began on the stage long before cinema embraced him, this maiden production holds a deeply personal significance. Theatre, he says, is his “first love,” and returning to it as a producer feels like life coming full circle.
Speaking emotionally about this new beginning, Pankaj Tripathi shared, “Roopkatha Rangmanch is not just a production house for us, it is an emotional extension of our roots. My journey as an actor began on the stage, in the simplicity of backstage chaos, borrowed costumes, and the magic of performing for a live audience. Theatre has taught me sincerity, patience, emotion, and discipline. Whatever I am today, I owe a large part of it to those early years under the spotlight and in the wings. When Mridula and I decided to start our own banner, I felt a strong desire that our first production must honour the medium that shaped me. 'Lailaaj' is our humble tribute to theatre, to the craft, and to every artist who finds their truth on stage."
Pankaj further adds, "What makes this even more special is that our daughter, Aashi, is making her stage debut with this musical. As a father, I feel immense pride; as an actor, I feel a deep sense of responsibility; and as a producer, I feel the excitement of creating something meaningful. Watching her rehearse, struggle, improve, and shine reminds me of my own early days. Aashi’s debut in Lailaaj is not just a moment for our family, it is a reminder that every artist must fall in love with the process, and theatre is the purest place for that love to grow. I hope the audience showers the same warmth, curiosity, and encouragement on this play as they have always given me.”
Sharing her thoughts on stepping into production, Mridula Tripathi added, “Roopkatha Rangmanch was born out of a shared dream to preserve and promote stories that touch the heart. Theatre has always been close to our lives, and choosing a musical comedy like Lailaaj felt like the perfect beginning. This play represents joy, chaos, music, and human emotion in its simplest yet most beautiful form. As a mother, watching Aashi prepare for her debut has been a profoundly moving experience. And as a producer, I am thrilled to bring a project like this to the stage, a project that celebrates creativity, teamwork, and the timeless charm of live performance. We believe Lailaaj will resonate with audiences of all ages, and we are excited to present our first production to the world with so much love and sincerity.”
With a talented team, an original musical format, and the emotional energy of a family legacy being carried forward, Roopkatha Rangmanch’s Lailaaj is poised to charm theatre lovers in Mumbai and beyond.

Joining them in a leading role is Shalini Pandey, while the ensemble also includes Piyush Mishra, Chunky Pandey, Amit Sial and Manu Rishi Chadha.

Umesh Kumar Bansal, CBO, Zee Studios, said, “At Zee Studios, we’re committed to championing stories that break the clutter while staying deeply connected to Indian audiences. Rahu Ketu does exactly that. It taps into our cultural belief systems with a playful twist and brings together a lead cast that’s loved for their comic timing. EXCLUSIVE: Kartik Aaryan’s sister Dr Kritika Tiwari to get engaged in Gwalior in the first week of December
The next 35-40 days... Read More
The next 35-40 days will be significant for Kartik Aaryan for more than one reason. The teaser of his highly awaited film, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, will be unveiled on November 22, on his birthday; the romcom will be released on December 25. In the midst of the promotion of this romcom, co-starring Ananya Panday, Kartik also has one more commitment, and this one is more personal. Bollywood Hungama has learned that his sister, Dr Kritika Tiwari, will get engaged three weeks from now.
A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Dr Kritika will get engaged in their hometown, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. The exact dates are kept a secret by the family but it’s expected to be in the first week of December. The family has already begun preparations. Kartik dotes on his sister and he’s over the moon over this development. He has meticulously planned his schedule for next month to ensure that he’s fully there for his family on this important occasion and at the same time, his work doesn’t suffer as well.”
Kartik Aaryan’s lovely bond with Kritika Tiwari is known, as evident by their pictures, especially during Raksha Bandhan and Bhai Dooj. Both gave a rare interview together to Bombay Times on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan in August 2024. Kartik Aaryan, in this interview, said, “I have to say, having a sister is a blessing and it’s sonay pe suhaga if she becomes your best friend. Sisters are the best secret keepers. Even today, I have that comfort with Kittu where I share everything with her.”
He also stated, “Whenever I’m going through something personal or having a bad day, she is my go-to person because just by talking to her or spending some time with her, things start looking better. She is younger but wiser than me…she is my cheerleader, but she is also honest about her thoughts and feedback.”
Dr Kritika Tiwari revealed, “We are poles apart as individuals. I am more outdoorsy, loud and talkative, and he’s mostly quiet, composed and a workaholic. As much as I appreciate how hardworking he is, I do wish he could find ways to let go and chill a little bit more.”
She added, “When he went to college and I was in Bhopal doing my MBBS, I would write him letters every year. As much as I missed celebrating Raksha Bandhan together, writing Rakhi letters to him became one of my favourite things to do.”

Farhan Akhtar starrer 120 Bahadur creates history; becomes first film ever to release in Defence theatres across India
India’s exhibition... Read More
India’s exhibition landscape is witnessing a groundbreaking moment as Excel Entertainment and Trigger Happy Studios’ upcoming war epic 120 Bahadur becomes the first film in the country to release across defence theatres nationwide. This landmark initiative, enabled through PictureTime’s mobile cinema network, ensures that a film honouring unparalleled courage will directly reach the brave hearts it pays tribute to.
The Farhan Akhtar-starrer is set to screen exclusively for the defence community in more than 800 cinema halls across India when it opens globally on November 21. The rollout, executed by PictureTime in collaboration with GenSync Brat Media, marks a major leap in accessibility, bringing high-quality cinematic experiences to soldiers and their families posted in remote and previously underserved regions.
Explaining the scale and impact of the initiative, Sushil Chaudhary, Founder-CEO of PictureTime, highlighted the long-standing gap in entertainment access for armed forces personnel. “There are 1.5 million active soldiers and over six million viewers. But only 30 percent of India’s 20-million strong veteran and family audience has access to defense cinemas. We aim to expand the ecosystem to additionally reach the underserved 70% and we begin with a bang with 120 Bahadur, a film we know will deeply resonate with the forces,” Chaudhary said.
Excel Entertainment CEO Vishal Ramchandani echoed this sentiment, emphasising the emotional significance of the film’s defence-first release. “120 Bahadur honours the courage and sacrifice of our armed forces. We feel truly privileged that the soldiers whose spirit the film celebrates will be watching it with their families. Our sincere thanks to PictureTime for facilitating this screening for those who serve the nation.”
Based on the heroic Battle of Rezang La, 120 Bahadur features a strong ensemble cast including Raashii Khanna, Sparsh Walia, Vivan Bhatena, Dhanveer Singh, Digvijay Pratap, Sahib Verma, Ankit Siwach, Devendra Ahirwar, Ashutosh Shukla, Brijesh Karanwal, Atul Singh, along with senior officers Ajinkya Deo and Eijaz Khan.
Directed by Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, and Amit Chandrra, 120 Bahadur releases in cinemas on November 21, 2025.

SCOOP: Dhurandhar expected to have a run time of 3 hours plus; will be Ranveer Singh’s LENGTHIEST film
All eyes are on... Read More
All eyes are on Dhurandhar and hence, its trailer is highly awaited. It was all set to be launched on November 12, but due to the circumstances last week, it was pushed to Tuesday, November 18. As the world waits to ascertain if the trailer is as exciting as the teaser, Bollywood Hungama has learned that, going by the recent trends of several biggies, Dhurandhar has also turned out to be a lengthy film.
A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Dhurandhar has a vast and expansive storyline. The focus is on Ranveer Singh’s character and what he goes through, while there are also other actors who have a crucial part. Director Aditya Dhar is clear that he doesn’t want to rush through the narrative and at the same time, ensure that every scene engages and excites the audience.”
The source continued, “At present, the final run time of Dhurandhar is more than 3 hours. It is somewhere around 3 hours and 5 minutes. The final duration, locked by Aditya Dhar, Jio Studios and B62 Studios, will be known in the next 10 days.” It remains to be seen if the length is brought down or if it remains the same as mentioned above.
If Dhurandhar is indeed 185 minutes long, it’ll turn out to be the lengthiest film of Ranveer Singh’s career. Until now, that honour was enjoyed by Dil Dhadakne Do (2015), which was 2 hours and 51 minutes long. This was followed by Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023), which had a run time of 2 hours and 48 minutes (in cinemas). Then came 83 (2021) and Padmaavat (2018); their duration was 2 hours and 43 minutes. Kill Dil (2014) is his shortest film, as it had a run time of just 1 hour and 57 minutes.
Besides Ranveer Singh, Dhurandhar also stars Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal and Sara Arjun. The entire team of the film, except Sanjay and Akshaye, is expected to attend the trailer launch on November 18.

The reality series, positioned as a light-hearted look into the dynamics of marriage, quickly became one of the channel’s standout non-fiction successes of the year, offering a mix of humour, emotional moments, and candid exchanges between celebrity couples.
Hosted by Sonali Bendre and Munawar Faruqui, the show brought together seven celebrity jodis who participated in challenges designed to reflect the everyday quirks, conflicts, and warmth that shape married life. Over several weeks, audiences saw the couples navigate unexpected tasks, revisit personal milestones, and address the relatable push-and-pull that accompanies long-term partnerships. The season culminated in a grand finale styled like a big fat Indian wedding, where the couples dressed as dulha and dulhan to symbolically renew their vows in a celebratory setting.
For fans of Rubina and Abhinav, watching the duo together on screen again added a nostalgic charm to the season. Their spirited banter, emotional transparency and light-hearted humour became recurring highlights. At one point, Rubina teased, “Engineers mein sabse poor quality ka romance hota hai,” while Abhinav’s steady gestures—including a heartfelt birthday gift from their financially tougher days—resonated strongly with viewers who appreciated the couple’s authenticity.
After three months of competition, eliminations, and unexpected turns, the couple secured the winning title. Sharing their gratitude, Rubina and Abhinav said, “Dhamaal with Pati Patni Aur Panga was a superb way for us to spend time together without life rushing by us. As a couple, we’re far from perfect, and we, along with other couples, were very candid about our blind spots, and that was super liberating. Winning this trophy is extremely special; it’s the result of all the love we’ve received from the viewers and the supportive spirit of every couple who made this journey so much fun”.
“We want to thank Colors and the makers of this show for creating a space that was honest, warm, and full of heart. Our deepest gratitude to Sonali ma’am and Munawar for their love, gentleness, humour, and guidance. And to the audience, thank you for pampering us like we’re your own family. If there’s one thing we hope our journey reminds people of, it’s this: Love is not about being flawless. It is about choosing each other over everything else, even on the days it feels hardest”, the winning couple added.
With the show now concluded, Colors will release its next non-fiction offering, Laughter Chefs, premiering on November 22 at 9 PM.
