Kusha Kapila turns co-producer for short film Vyarth, says it reflects industry’s typecasting struggles
Kusha Kapila is... Read More
Kusha Kapila is stepping into a new space in her career with Vyarth, a short film in which she plays the lead role while also taking on the role of co-producer. Ahead of the film’s poster reveal, the project is already gaining interest for its premise and Kusha’s dual involvement in front of and behind the camera. Known for her work in digital content and recent film appearances, Vyarth marks a notable shift as Kusha explores production alongside acting. The film centres on themes of typecasting and creative limitations within the industry—topics that are increasingly finding space in mainstream storytelling.
Speaking about the project, Kusha shared, "Vyarth is more than just a film; it's a mirror reflecting the very real struggle against typecasting in our industry, a challenge central to Bhumi's journey. As an actor, you dive deep into your character's soul but as a producer, you have to pull back and look at the entire picture. It's a powerful shift from 'how do I deliver this line?' to 'how do all these elements create impact?' This journey, from making funny videos in my room to acting in films and now co-producing, feels like a natural evolution."
The film follows Bhumi, an underrated actress grappling with the monotony of conventional roles. Things take a turn when her younger flatmate, Meenakshi, asks for help with an audition that Bhumi herself has been offered—a mother’s role she initially resents.
Vyarth is directed and co-produced by Pankaj Dayani, who has previously worked as an assistant director on Newton. The script is penned by Fahim Irshad. Romil Modi, known for his work in Laapataa Ladies and All We Imagine As Light, handles casting. Cinematographer Swapnil S. Sonawale, best known for Monica, O My Darling, brings his visual storytelling to the film.

Druva Sarja, Sanjay... Read More
Druva Sarja, Sanjay Dutt, Shilpa Shetty, Reeshma Nanaiah, director Prem and producer Suprith attended the teaser launch of their Pan-India movie KD - The Devil at a multiplex in Mumbai. Sanjay Dutt made some interesting comments about the film’s making and a lot more.
Sanjay Dutt was asked about what drew him to the film. He replied, “As Dhruva said, iss film ki kahaani pyaari hai. The character I have played is very powerful. His relationship with his wife is very unique. It’s a massy character. Since the time I did Rocky, I have only worked for masses.”
He continued, “The film is emotional and action-packed. And I majorly did the film for Prem sir. He’s one of the most talented directors and one of the best human beings I have met.”
He was then asked to comment on his two exciting films clashing on December 5. The Raja Saab took the slot last month. On Sunday, July 6, makers of Dhurandhar announced that even they are releasing their period spy entertainer on the same day.
On this, Sanjay Dutt replied, “It’s amazing because I am playing two different kinds of roles. In Dhurandhar, the character I am playing is poles apart compared to the role I have in The RajaSaab.”
He confessed, “I don’t want the films to clash and I hope they don’t. Every film has a journey. Nevertheless, I am blessed that I could do so many characters.”
Dhurandhar also stars Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna and Sara Arjun. Backed by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, it is directed by Aditya Dhar of Uri (2019) fame.
As for The RajaSaab, it is a horror comedy co-starring Prabhas, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, Boman Irani and others. It is directed by Maruthi and produced by T G Vishwa Prasad's People Media Factory.

Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna created history in 2025 with the Sukumar directed Pushpa 2: The Rule. The film made them the most loved pair of Indian Cinema, and now the duo is all set to reunite again for Atlee's next film. But in a surprising turn of events, Rashmika Mandanna has been cast to play the negative lead of A6.
Reliable sources confirmed the development to Bollywood Hungama saying, "Rashmika had the choice to play the negative lead in either A6 or another big Pan India film. After hearing both the roles, the actress had to make a tough call but she decided to come on board Atlee's next, as the character allowed her the chance to explore the uncharted territories."
Rashmika has already done her look test for A6 and is looking to start shooting for it from the month of October. "Rashmika has paid a visit to LA with director Atlee and Allu Arjun. She was bowled over by the pre-viz for her character and is super excited to work with one of the biggest directors of modern era - Atlee. The antagonist turn for Rashmika in an Allu Arjun film is also a departure from their last two collaboration on Pushpa franchise."
We hear that Rashmika will have fierce face-off sequences with all the members of the star-cast ranging from Allu Arjun to Deepika Padukone, Mrunal Thakur and Janhvi Kapoor. The film is presently on floors and will hit the big screen in 2027. It's the biggest film of Indian Cinema, with multiple international artists working on to create the 'Avatar' of India.

In 2015, Indian cinema witnessed a seismic shift with the arrival of Baahubali: The Beginning. An epic action drama that shattered boundaries, redefined cinematic scale, and became a cultural phenomenon across languages. Now, a decade later, the film that changed everything is making a historic return to the big screen on October 31, 2025.
To mark this milestone, the makers have announced a massive re-release of Baahubali: The Beginning, allowing fans to relive the spectacle where it truly belongs — in cinemas. The announcement was made via social media with the caption shared by director S.S. Rajamouli. Along with the director, the makers of the film also posted on their respective social media handles.
Director SS Rajamouli wrote, “Baahubali… The beginning of many journeys. Countless memories. Endless inspiration. It’s been 10 years. Marking this special milestone with #BaahubaliTheEpic, a two-part combined film. In theatres worldwide on October 31, 2025.”
10 years ago, a question united the nation… Now the question and the answer return together in ONE grand epic. #BaahubaliTheEpic releases worldwide on October 31st, 2025.#Celebrating10YearsOfBaahubali #DecadeofBaahubaliReign #Baahubali pic.twitter.com/iCdTyicF4F — Baahubali (@BaahubaliMovie) July 10, 2025
Directed by the visionary S. S. Rajamouli, the film set new benchmarks in Indian filmmaking — from its majestic world-building to its unforgettable characters, rousing score, and emotional depth. Baahubali: The Beginning not only introduced the grandeur of Mahishmati but also gave us an iconic ensemble: Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj, and Nassar.
The film sparked nationwide hysteria with one burning question — “Kattappa ne Baahubali ko kyu maara?” — that became part of pop culture and laid the foundation for its record-breaking sequel, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.
With multiple National Awards under its belt, including Best Feature Film and Best Special Effects, the film holds a special place in Indian cinema. It remains the sixth highest-grossing Telugu film of all time, and its Hindi dubbed version still holds the record for the highest-grossing dubbed Hindi film in history.
Ten years on, the legacy of Baahubali: The Beginning continues to thrive. As the re-release approaches, fans across generations are ready to return to Mahishmati — to experience once more the magic, might, and myth that made history.

EXCLUSIVE: CBFC censors three dialogues in Maalik; is Rajkummar Rao's FIRST 'A' rated film in 7 years
After doing several... Read More
After doing several light-hearted and family entertainers, Rajkummar Rao is now all set to surprise the audience with his angry young man avatar in Maalik. The film has caught attention due to the actor’s look, powerful trailer and mass-appealing treatment. The censor process of the film was completed last week, on July 4, and in this feature, Bollywood Hungama will throw light on the same.
As per the cut list, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) modified two dialogues. However, no detail has been given about the contents of the dialogues. Secondly, the Examining Committee (EC) replaced the dialogue ‘Lallan ghar chod dega tujhe’. The one-liner seems harmless and again, without any context, it is difficult to ascertain the reason for it being censored. On the brighter side, the CBFC’s members haven’t made any cuts in the visuals. Hence, the action scenes will be presented as envisioned by the makers.
Once these changes were made, Maalik was passed by the CBFC with an ‘A’ certificate. The length of the film as mentioned on the censor certificate is 152.17 minutes. In other words, Maalik is 2 hours 32 minutes and 17 seconds long.
Interestingly, this is the first adult-rated film of Rajkummar Rao in a long time, nearly 7 years to be precise. At the beginning of his career, he was a part of many adult-certified movies like Love Sex Aur Dhokha (2010), Ragini MMS (2011), Shaitan (2011), Gangs Of Wasseypur (2012) and Shahid (2013). Aligarh (2016) was also given an 'A' certificate. In 2018, he had two adult releases, namely Omerta and Love Sonia.
From here on, as his popularity and star value increased, the actor appeared in several family-friendly entertainers like Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga (2019), Srikanth (2024), Mr & Mrs Mahi (2024), Bhool Chuk Maaf (2024) etc. Even the ones with slightly mature themes such as Judgementall Hai Kya (2019), Made In China (2019), HIT: The First Case (2022), Bheed (2023), Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video (2024) etc. were treated in such a way that they were awarded a U/A rating. Lastly, Rajkummar Rao acted in films like Stree (2018) and Stree 2 (2024). They were horror comedies, meant for all kinds of audiences and hence, were passed with a U/A certificate.
Coming back to Maalik, it also stars Prosenjit Chatterjee, Manushi Chhillar, Huma Qureshi, Swanand Kirkire and Saurabh Shukla. Directed by Pulkit, it releases in cinemas on July 11.

EXCLUSIVE: CBFC deletes 33-second-long ‘sensual visual’ in Superman
The Hollywood film... Read More
The Hollywood film industry is on a roll and delivering successful biggies back-to-back. After F1: The Movie and Jurassic World: Rebirth, all eyes are now on Superman. It starts a new chapter for the DC Universe and moreover, replaces Henry Cavill with David Corenswet for the lead role. The censor process was completed just 3 days ago, on July 7. Bollywood Hungama in this article will shed light on the film’s cut list.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) asked the studio to delete the foul words wherever they were mouthed. An eight-second shot involving a 'foul gesture' was asked to be removed. It was replaced by a two-second shot.
Lastly, the CBFC's members deleted a 'sensual visual'. It lasts 33 seconds and is spread across two scenes. A trade source told Bollywood Hungama, “At the premiere held on July 9, the attendees didn’t react well to the cut. One can feel that something has been deleted. They were also confused why a part of the kissing scene was retained while the other part was censored. But then you can hardly blame the studio for it, especially if the CBFC has ordered them to make the cut.”
Once these changes were made, Superman was passed with a U/A 13+ certificate. The length of the film, as mentioned on the certificate, is 130.44 minutes. In other words, the film is 2 hours 10 minutes and 44 seconds long. It is all set to release worldwide on July 11.
The deletion or modification of certain scenes in Hollywood movies, deemed foul by the CBFC authorities, has caused an uproar in the past. Recently, for the Marvel film Thunderbolts, CBFC muted five abusive words - ‘a**’, ‘a**hole’, ‘d**ks’, ‘b***h’ and ‘prick’. Two obscene words were asked to be removed from Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.
An industry source told Bollywood Hungama, “There are times when the studio anticipates that the CBFC might ask for a cut. It lengthens the censor process as one has to then make the cut, get it approved by the CBFC’s Examining Committee. Only then, do they get the certificate. To save time and effort, they self-censor. This happened recently with F1: The Movie when Brad Pitt’s character is seen sending a middle finger emoji to another character. What was shown on the Indian screen was a fist bump instead of the middle finger. As expected, CBFC got brickbats for it though it was the studio that made the change, possibly as they knew that they anyway will have to modify the ‘vulgar’ visual. The same studio, Warner Bros, also self-censored Mickey 17.”

The film is scripted by Vaibhav Vishal, a writer known for his evocative narrative style.
The upcoming feature is being backed by two prominent production houses—MovieVerse Studios, led by Aditya Pittie and Vivek Krishnani, and Ellipsis Entertainment, headed by Tanuj Garg and Atul Kasbekar. The lead cast of the film is yet to be announced.
A report by Variety quoted Aditya Pittie, managing director of IN10 Media Network, saying, “At MovieVerse, we’ve always believed in backing stories that offer something fresh and exciting to the audience. This collaboration marks a monumental leap forward for us. Recognizing the immense potential and creative passion behind this project, knowing it holds the promise of both artistic excellence and mass appeal, we welcome Prasoon Pandey aboard to debut with us.”
The report further quoted Prasoon, who said, “I really enjoy the kind of stories I get to do in advertising, which is why I haven’t done a feature film yet,” he said. “So if I have to take a short break from ads after we are done casting, I was clear that it would have to be a story that’s truly intriguing and unlike anything I’ve seen before. So when Atul shared this with me, I knew this was the one.”

EXCLUSIVE: Genelia Deshmukh features in a cameo in Masti 4
Almost a week ago, it... Read More
Almost a week ago, it came to light that Masti 4 has gone on floors, as evident by the pictures posted by the film’s makers. The unit of the naughty comedy at present is in Birmingham, United Kingdom and is shooting a dance number on a huge scale. If the leaked assets from the sets are to be believed, this track will be a highlight as it features a special appearance by none other than Genelia Deshmukh.
Earlier in the day, the unit of Masti 4 was present at Victoria Square, Birmingham. The three leads of the film – Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani - were seen filming a song along with hundreds of extras. Since Victoria Square is a public place, a lot of onlookers were also present, and they recorded videos and took pictures. These images and videos made their way to social media.
In some of these pictures, Genelia Deshmukh can be seen present on the sets. At first, it was thought that she was merely present to witness the shoot. Her presence was also no secret as she could be seen in a picture posted by the film’s team where they can be seen celebrating the birthday of Elnaaz Norouzi, one of the actresses in the film. But in some of the videos, Genelia Deshmukh could be seen rehearsing the steps and even shooting for it.

This is not the first time that Genelia Deshmukh has appeared in a cameo in a film starring hubby Riteish Deshmukh. Earlier, she had a special appearance in the song 'Aala Holicha San' from Riteish’s super hit Marathi movie, Lai Bhaari (2014). She had a similar cameo in the song ‘Dhuvun Taak’ in Mauli (2018).
Genelia Deshmukh has been in the news of late for several reasons. Her much-awaited film Sitaare Zameen Par, starring Aamir Khan, has emerged as a success at the box office. Yesterday, her new film announcement took the moviegoers by surprise. It is titled Gunmaaster G9 and co-stars Emraan Hashmi and Aparshakti Khurana. It is directed by Aditya Datt of Aashiq Banaya Aapne (2005) fame.
Coming back to Masti 4, besides Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani and Elnaaz Norouzi, it also stars Ruhii Singh and Shreya Sharma. It is directed by Milap Zaveri.

EXCLUSIVE: Fan power WINS; F1: The Movie to continue playing in IMAX despite Superman takeover
The Brad... Read More
The Brad Pitt-starrer F1: The Movie is running very successfully at the box office, particularly in the IMAX version. The racing saga has emerged as a grand cinematic experience and the experience of watching it in IMAX is something else, resulting in healthy sales in the special format even on the weekdays. Fans of the film were disappointed as the movie was going to have just a 2-week showcasing in IMAX. But now, it has come to light that F1: The Movie has got an extended run.
A source told Bollywood Hungama, “F1: The Movie released on June 27 while Superman releases tomorrow, July 11. Hence, it was known from the beginning that the former would be available for just two weeks in the IMAX screens. It was also known that F1: The Movie would be lapped up in the IMAX version. Yet, the response to the film in the 33 IMAX screens in India took everyone by surprise. The film refuses to slow down despite inflated tickets. Even morning shows on weekdays are getting huge occupancy, which is a rarity.”
The source continued, “The collections made it clear that a lot of gas is left in the tank when it comes to F1: The Movie in IMAX. Meanwhile, fans have also been tweeting that the racing flick should continue in the format. But that was not possible due to Superman.”
The source then said, “This is when the studio, Warner Bros, came up with a solution. They have asked IMAX theatres to play an early morning show of F1: The Movie from July 11. Superman’s shows start at 9:00 am or 10:00 am in IMAX. These cinemas were asked to play F1: The Movie 3 ½ hours before the first show of Superman. This means that F1: The Movie might have a show at 6:00 am or even 5:00 am! But Warner has assured cinemas that they’ll get an audience for this film at these unearthly hours as there’s tremendous demand to see the movie in IMAX.”
A trade expert commented, “All theatres might not agree to this idea but most of them will and hence, F1: The Movie will continue in IMAX. From Week 2, F1: The Movie can maybe be played in the usual time slot, depending on how it trends in Week 3. Thankfully, both Superman and F1: The Movie are backed by Warner Bros and this will make it easier for shows to be accommodated.”
The IMAX continues to be a sought-after format, especially for big-budget grand films. However, the IMAX rules are such that they want to ensure that there are not too many IMAX releases at one time. Hence, Jurassic World: Rebirth, which was released between F1: The Movie and Superman, didn’t get a release in IMAX.
On the other hand, a war is brewing between War 2 and Coolie, both of which are all set to release on August 14. War 2 has taken over all the IMAX screens as per an exclusive deal. Last weekend, Bollywood Hungama reported the viral story on how Coolie’s makers inserted the IMAX logo despite no confirmation from IMAX that their film will be released in their screens. It yet again showed how the format has a prestige value and how makers deeply desire that their biggie gets screened in IMAX.

Ranveer Singh, Bollywood’s ever-energetic style icon, has just taken his love for flamboyance to a whole new (and greener) level. The actor has reportedly gifted himself the luxurious and powerful Hummer EV 3X, a high-end electric SUV that comes with a jaw-dropping on-road price tag of Rs. 4.57 crore.
If reports are to be believed, the Hummer EV 3X, which marks Ranveer’s first electric car, was delivered to the actor and his wife Deepika Padukone’s Mumbai residence earlier this week. Paparazzi videos of the massive SUV being rolled into the couple’s driveway have now gone viral, sparking fan frenzy and admiration across social media.
According to reports, while the ex-showroom price of the Hummer EV 3X is approximately Rs. 3.85 crore, the on-road price, including taxes and customisations, has bumped the total cost to around Rs. 4.57 crore. The delivery of this mean machine coincided with Ranveer’s birthday week, making it a grand personal celebration of sorts.

The ‘power-packed machine’ Hummer EV 3X is no ordinary vehicle — it’s a beast packed with performance and innovation. With three motors powering it, the electric SUV delivers an EPA-estimated range of up to 312 miles on a full charge. What truly sets it apart is its best-in-class 830 horsepower and up to 11,500 lb-ft of torque, ensuring thrilling performance even in an eco-friendly format. Among its many advanced features is Super Cruise®, GM’s hands-free driver assistance technology, making the Hummer EV one of the most futuristic electric vehicles on Indian roads today.
On the professional front, Ranveer Singh is set to surprise fans with a darker, more intense role in Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar. The film features Ranveer in an anti-hero avatar and is slated to hit theatres on December 5. The movie also stars Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal, promising a power-packed cinematic experience.
Whether it's on screen or off, Ranveer Singh continues to redefine extravagance and energy — now, with a side of electric torque.
